Elijah Moore was one of several suspects in a standoff in New Melle following a home invasion and assault on an officer in Wright City earlier in the day. Wentzville Police say he stole a truck just before 7 p.m. and led officers on a pursuit for nearly a half hour. Moore allegedly fired at officers several times, none were injured. Moore suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Lake St. Louis.
Warren County Sheriff Keith Harrison said an 81-year-old man who was tied up during the home invasion was able to call police early Monday after freeing himself. Harrison said the suspects got away after shooting at Wright City police and disabling a patrol vehicle.
Moore is in the St. Charles County jail on a $100,000 bond on charges of first degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and more. A woman also is charged in the home invasion.
