WATCH: Laila went back to school for first time in 2 years

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's a safe bet that Laila Anderson had one of the best summer vacations of anyone in her class. The little girl who inspired the St. Louis Blues during the team's first Stanley Cup victory, traveled to Boston to watch it happen and then rode in the championship parade down Market Street has returned to school after a two-year absence.

She missed two years of school after being diagnosed with a very rare disease called "HLH." She said with a smile that it makes her a "rare unicorn."

The Parkway school district noted her return on it's Facebook page, Tuesday.

"I love my parents, but I need a break from their faces," she said in the video.
