ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Stanley Cup has begun its three-day tour of St. Louis, as three members of the NHL champion St. Louis Blues including forward Pat Maroon's will have their personal day with the Cup. Its first stop was Barnes Jewish Hospital with assistant athletic trainer Dustin Flynn.
"I came back here in St. Louis for a follow up. Then kind of had a flare-up during my follow-up and was readmitted here," Flynn says. "So I just thought it would be a good idea to bring it back to the floor I was on and let the nurses and docs who took care of me, see it."
Flynn was experiences severe headaches, with trouble eating and sleeping for nearly a month during the season. In early February he was cleared to return to work with some minimal limitations. You can read more about the story on CaringBridge.org.
Flynn says the rest of the day will involve family time and maybe a stop at bar in the evening.
Saturday, Pat Maroon gets the Cup for the day. Then Sunday it's video coach Sean Ferrell's turn.
No public events have been scheduled.
