Cardinals acquire Zac Rosscup; Reliever threw an immaculate inning last season

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's hardly a deal that will move the meter, but the St. Louis Cardinals did gain some left-handed depth in acquiring pitcher Zac Rosscup from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Monday.

The team made the announcement on Twitter, stating they had sent cash considerations to LA for the 31-year-old who is 2-0 with a 5.00 ERA this season. He's spent time in the Seattle, Toronto and LA organizations already.

Rosscup will report to Memphis with the Triple-A club.

Rosscup is a name you might recognize for recent success because last year in August, he finished off a game against the Mariners on nine pitches, all for strikes. It's called an immaculate inning and it only happens a handful of times each year.

The Cardinals themselves were on the wrong side of one earlier this season, when Brewers pitcher Josh Hader got Tyler O’Neill, Dexter Fowler and Yairo Munoz out on nine pitchers on March 30.
