AFFTON, Mo. (KMOX) - The legendary Tower Tee driving range and batting cages have been closed for months now, but what appeared last summer to be a done deal to turn it into a housing development may not be so certain.
Tower Tee was on the site in Affton for half a century, and when they shut down after the property was sold by KSDK's parent company, they left land zoned as commercial.
Now, County Councilwoman Lisa Clancy says she wants residents to have a say in what happens on the property.
She has scheduled a series of town hall meetings so people in the area can put in their two cents about what should happen next. The first of the town halls is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 20 at the Affton Community Center.
The county council has to approve a zoning change before any homes can be built on the site.
