The arrest and charges stem from Friday's standoff in Tower Grove South.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — A five-hour standoff with St. Louis police has come to an end.

In the 3900 block of Utah starting around 10 a.m., St. Louis police officers went to arrest a 27-year-old man who was wanted for a murder in Washington state, parole violation in Missouri and questioning for other violent crimes in the St. Louis area.

Major Eric Larson said when police went to the home, the man refused to come out. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, were in the home as well. It is not clear whether or not they were hostages in the situation. Major Larson said after a tactical deployment, all three people in the home surrendered. Police did not describe the deployment further.

The suspect was armed with an assault rifle and handgun, and early on he fired shots in the home. Shots were also fired at SWAT vehicles at some point. The vehicles were hit, though no one was injured.

Media was given limited information during the five hours as to not tip off the suspect, whose identification information was not released. The suspect is now behind bars.
