ST. LOUIS (KMOX) updated Wednesday afternoon - The man killed after allegedly shooting at St. Louis detectives was facing charges for shooting a woman in Jefferson City.St. Louis police on Wednesday identified the man as 22-year-old Quency Chavez Floyd of St. Louis.
Floyd was charged in November with shooting a woman during a domestic dispute in Jefferson City, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She was struck in the shoulder and survived. It wasn't immediately clear why Floyd remained free after the charges were filed.

A carjacking suspect was shot and killed by four St. Louis police officers after he first fired at the officers in north St. Louis Tuesday afternoon.
Officers located a white Saturn which had been reported as stolen at 11 a.m., Tuesday, traveling on Natural Bridge Ave. The suspect stopped at the Schnucks near Natural Bridge Ave. and Union Blvd and exited vehicle around 3 p.m., Tuesday. When he returned about 10 minutes later, plain clothes police officers were waiting for him.
The man ran from police until he was cornered between buildings and a fence nearby. He then turned and fired at the four officers who were chasing him.
Four officers returned fire and the man was shot at least once in the torso. He was taken to a hospital in critical and unstable condition, but has since died from his injuries. Police say they recovered his weapon.
