ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A tow boat and barges made it safely through the high waters of the Mississippi River at St. Louis on Friday.
The Coast Guard says special permission was granted for the Tate Oglesby vessel to come through a closed section of river and through Lock 27.
The tow boat and its equipment is needed in Omaha, Nebraska to support flood recovery and repair efforts there.
The Army Corps of Engineers assisted with the pass-through.
