ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Now that the St. Louis Blues' championship season is over, the group trying to bring Major League Soccer to the Gateway City is giving an update.

Leader of the potential St. Louis MLS ownership Carolyn Kindle Betz posted an update on Twitter, saying architecture work continues on the stadium with HOK and at City Hall.

This week, the city has begun to move in on land west of Union Station that the stadium would go on.

“The ownership group and team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we keep pushing forward to win that MLS team,” Kindle Betz said.

Major League Soccer announced they'd be expanding to 30 teams earlier this year, almost definitely assuring a spot for St. Louis.

Confirmation could come this summer.
