(KMOX) - A few Missouri firefighters went above and beyond the call of duty this week – pushing and man in his electric home after it ran out of power.

Video of the trio of Rayton Fire Protection District firefighters pushing the man and his chair, uphill, with the firetruck behind them was shared on their Facebook page, Tuesday.

Deputy Chief Mike Hunley told the Kansas City Star the man had gone fishing at a pond about seven blocks from his home. But when he drove off the path his chair got stuck in the mud.

Hunley says his crew was called to come lift the man and his chair out of the mud. Then it was just easier to push him home, rather than lift him into the fire truck.

"We encourage our guys to find the best way to make a difference when they are out in the field," Hunley told the Star. "We are happy to see our guys help people, because that's what we do for a living."
