ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Schnucks on Arsenal west of Kingshighway claims to have the world's largest pineapple display.
Produce clerk Daniel Tracy tells KMOX News his boss came up with the idea, "He was telling me like 18,000 was the last record, so we'd need to bring in like 19,000 some odd pineapples. We just thought this store would be a good one. Our produce sales are high."
Tracy says roughly 2,000 pineapples were sold the first day.
What happens to those they don't sell in the coming days?
"Give some of it to the other Schnucks stores around, and if not, the day before they go bad, give them to a shelter or an orphanage for kids," Tracy suggested.
