ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — When it comes to soccer in St. Louis, Amsterdam Tavern on Morganford is the epi-center.
As you might expect, the people who run the bar are pumped about the MLS coming to town.
One of those people is Jeff Lyle, whose Amsterdam Tavern is packed at six o'clock on Saturday mornings with fans watching English Premier games. He says with that kind of enthusiasm already in St. Louis, an MLS team will be a huge success.
Bartender Billy Holley says with regional rivals in Chicago and Kansas City, it's going to be more than just a local draw...
Lyle says once the announcement is made, the level of interest in MLS will go up ten-fold.
MLS 4 The Lou has set a press conference for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at The Palladium.
