ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Just 12 days after someone stole a backpack out of the back seat of Brie Rainey's car – which held her 3-year-old son's prosthetic leg – Josiah was back on a new leg at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis.

The Belleville family's call for help went viral on social media earlier this month, hoping someone would find or return the $10,000, custom-made prosethic.

But the very next day, Shriners was working on replacing the leg for Josiah, who has been a patient at the hospial for practically his entire life. The hospital says the replacment is a newer model with better technology than his previous leg.

A GoFundMe page was set up to pay for her son's custom wheelchair and has raised nearly $4,000, easily eclipsing the $3,000 goal.

The boys grandmother, Karen Stephens posted about the update on Facebook:

"Our family continues to be humbled by the generosity of strangers, friends and loved ones. We thank you from the depths of our hearts that you love us enough to care and be his hands and feet."
