ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Smoke could be seen billowing from the side of the Carnahan Court House in downtown St. Louis, Tuesday afternoon. The St. Louis Fire Department was on the scene at 2:50 p.m. and told KMOX they're unsure at this point what caused the fire.
A dumpster on the south side of the building was on fire, but the Fire Department says the building was never on fire. The dumpster fire was extinguished by firefighters in a matter of minutes.
One employee at the courthouse believed because firefighters were so quick, they saved the building from catching fire.
