ST. CHARLES (KMOX) — Police seized more than a quarter-million dollars worth of marijuana and THC vape cartridges during a traffic stop Monday night on Interstate 70.
A St. Charles County police officer pulled over a 26-year-old man from Colorado Springs, Colo. around midnight near the Wentzville Parkway exit. The vehicle was speeding and had an improperly displayed license plate, according to SCCPD.
The officer questioned the man, who acted nervous and had a number of bottles in his car that appeared to be filled with urine. While completing an exterior search of the car, the officer's canine sniffed out drugs being stored in the truck bed. Several duffel bags containing about 113 pounds of marijuana and 1,400 THC cartridges were found.
According to police, the driver was taken into custody and is facing federal charges for drug trafficking.
