EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) — St. Louis barbecue behemoth Sugarfire Smoke House will open its 13th restaurant this week in Edwardsville.
The 4,500-square-foot building located at 2323 Plum St., Suite 100 will open for business 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5. The expansive space will seat 125 guests total with about 40 on the patio, which will feature "open ordering" with neighbor business Global Brew. Guests who attend the grand opening will be greeted by Sugarfire founder Mike Johnson and have the opportunity to win a Yeti cooler fully stocked with Sugarfire goodies, barbecue products, gift cards and more.
Barbecue lovers should expect the typical Sugarfire menu items at the fast-casual concept including succulent brisket, pulled pork and ribs, signature sides and famous sauces along with house made cookies, pies and milkshakes. Illinois native Rob Range will helm the kitchen carrying over his previous experience working at the Valley Park, Mo. location of Sugarfire. Edwardsville's own Tyrone Walls will serve as house pastry chef.
“Our group could not be more eager to open our doors to the people in Edwardsville,” owner-operator Doug Lang said in a news release. “The community has a great buzz to it and is only a short skip away from our roots in St. Louis — We really think it’s going to be a fun summer in Edwardsville!”
The new location will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until sold out. It is also the first tenant in the IronWorks development with Strange Donuts and Chicken Salad Chick soon to come.
