PICS: Live! by Loews hotel opens as latest expansion of Ballpark Village footprint

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A key piece to the Ballpark Village development is officially in business.
Live! by Loews is a 216 room hotel that sits on the grounds of where Busch Stadium II once stood.

When you walk into the hotel you're greeted by a mural of Cardinal's Hall of Famers, Yadier Molina's jersey is hanging in the bookcase over the bar and touches of red are threaded throughout the entire hotel.
Jonathan Tisch, Chairman & CEO, Loews Hotels & Co. told us why they chose St. Louis.
"St. Louis is a city of the future," Tisch says. "We feel good about what's happening downtown. And Ballpark Village was really a huge draw for us."
After the ribbon attendees were offered king crab and beef tataki developed by the hotel's executive chef, Matt Lange.
The hotel is now officially open and a receptionist told KMOX during the slow season you may be able to book a room for as cheap as $100 per night. But during big Cardinal events, it can cost between $500-600 a night.
The hotel is part of Ballpark Village’s $260M expansion. It features 216-rooms, four restaurants and lounges, 17,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an expansive outdoor terrace and there are upscale suite options along with a 1,392 square-foot Presidential Suite overlooking Busch Stadium.
Live! by Loews is the city’s first new hotel project in nearly a decade.
Next up for the Cardinals expansion of Ballpark village are new restaurants opening up, including one that will be open by Cardinals Opening Day, says president Bill DeWitt III.
Then finally is the centerpiece, 300-unit apartment complex One Cardinal Way that will open and forever "change the skyline" of downtown St. Louis.
