ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) — With the help of a prosthetic leg cast, a burglar smashed windows and doors to break into six South County stores early Tuesday, July 30.
A variety of businesses were targeted in the Lindbergh and Lin Ferry area between midnight and 4:30 a.m.
- South Town Dodge, 7127 S. Lindbergh
- Concord Cleaners, 11415 Concord Village Ave.
- Concord Animal Hospital, 11705 Baptist Church Road
- Auto Tire, 11711 Baptist Church Road
- Tailor's Boutique, 9951 Lin Ferry Drive
- Medcuro Orthotics and Prosthetics, 9959 Lin Ferry Drive
The thief reportedly failed to kick in the door of Tailor's Boutique, so they grabbed a prosthetic leg cast from a neighboring business and threw it through the front door of the boutique. The thief got away with $11 from that business.
Police say they are increasing patrols and asking anyone with surveillance video of the area to turn it in for review to identify potential suspects. The St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Property is leading the investigation.
