(KMOX) — As the holiday season approaches, some may already be planning their shopping lists and finding the best "Black Friday" deals.

Some retailers will take advantage of early evening hours on Thanksgiving, although the trend to shop on the holiday has received mixed views from Americans.

Based on prior years, the retailers below will likely choose to OPEN on Thanksgiving, according to RetailMeNot:

  • Bass Pro Shops
  • Best Buy
  • Big Lots
  • Gamestop
  • JCPenny
  • Kohl's
