Six Flags Coffin Challenge returns, but this time the coffin will be 'closed'

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The 30-Hour Coffin Challenge will return to Six Flags St. Louis, this fall and this time they're making it a little bit harder after every participant won the prize package including $300 last year.
Six Flags will again select six contestants who will try to stay inside a coffin at the Eureka, Mo. theme park on Oct. 5-6.
Last year, the coffin was partially open for contestants to lift their heads out, but Elizabeth Gotway with Six Flags tells KMOX this time "the coffin lid will be full, closed and only have a small opening for the contestant's face."
Instead of bathroom breaks every hour, this time you'll get just one, 13-minute bathroom break every three hours. There will also be six "cringe-worthy challenges" that participants will have to complete that involve going into the dark alone, as well as eating and touching creepy and disgusting things to earn points and remain in the challenge.
When it's all over, only one contestant will win the grand prize of $600, two 2020 Gold Season passes, two Express Haunted House Passes, get to keep their slightly-used coffin, $400 Dunkin' gift card and two nights of hotel accommodations at a Drury Hotel property in St. Louis.
All other participants remaining after 30 hours will receive two 2020 Gold Season passes, get to keep their slightly-used coffin and two nights of hotel accommodations at a Drury Hotel property in St. Louis.
Registration begins tomorrow, Friday the 13th.
