ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Across the entire U.S. in 2019, the most-searched topics on Google included a new streaming service, a controversial professional athlete and a natural disaster. But in St. Louis, we were enthralled by our professional sports teams this year.
The St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals Nos. 1 and 2 as the most-searched topics of 2019 in St. Louis.
At the end of every year Google takes a look at the top trending searches. They say the total number of searches is in the trillions each year and the below list is the topics that kept coming up throughout the entire year.
The Blues were No. 1 because of their huge comeback as the worst team in the NHL in January, then winning a Stanley Cup in June. And right now, they're the best team in the Western Conference.
The Cardinals were No. 2 with a return to the postseason for the first time since 2015.
