St. Louis Children's Hospital sends 200 Build-A-Bears to Boston Children's Hospital

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — While Boston may still be weeping over the St. Louis Blues' Stanley Cup win, kids at the Boston Children's Hospital will soon receive a package that will bring smiles to their faces.
The St. Louis Children's Hospital boxed up 200 Build-A-Bear Workshop bears to send to kids in Boston with a tag on each plush toy saying "Bear hugs from St. Louis! Thanks for a fun Stanley Cup final."
A post on the hospital's Facebook account went up Wednesday afternoon saying, "Happy flight to the 200 Build-A-Bear Workshop bear hugs being sent from St. Louis Children's Hospital to Boston Children's Hospital. From our city to yours, thank you for a fun #StanleyCup experience! #GuardiansOfChildhood"
"At St. Louis Children's Hospital we do what is right for kids, and at the start of the Stanley Cup Finals, we decided this was something we would want to do for the kids at Boston Children’s Hospital – win or lose," Peggy Gordin, President of St. Louis Children's Hospital wrote to KMOX. "As a St. Louis based partner, we have received wonderful support from Build-A-Bear and are so glad they loved the idea as much as we did. Along with Boston Children’s Hospital, we are proud to be among the nation’s top children’s hospitals – so regardless of who you root for or where you live, the kids are the real winners.”
Comments on the post from locals rave about the act of kindness including one that said, "Oh you are making me cry! I have been telling all my friends about how wonderful the people in St. Louis are. This is such a generous gesture. Now that the dust has settled, I have heard nothing but kudos for the Blues. We will never forget how the Red Sox were treated by the Cardinals in 2013 after the Marathon Bombings. ❤️❤️❤️"
Stay classy, St. Louis.
