WATCH: Malnourished horse rescued from home in East St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The newest addition to Randy's Rescue Ranch is "Maggie," and video of her rescue from a home in East St. Louis was shared on the non-profit's Facebook page, Tuesday.
Owner of the ranch and founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Randy Grimm shared multiple videos of he and his team taking the horse to her new home in O'Fallon, Ill.
"Jesus this is awful," was what Grimm can be heard saying as he first sees the horse and a pony behind a chain-link fence at the Metro East home.
"They wouldn't let us take the pony," Grimm says in the video. "They said it wasn't in bad enough shape."
Grimm says they were alerted to the "bad abuse case" for the horse and pony by Illinois State Police.
Founded in 2017, the Illinois ranch sits on a 20-acres farm and is home to horses, donkeys, cattle, pigs and dogs – all with personal rescue stories.
In a comment with the above video, Grimm says they are always in need of donations to help feed and raise these rescued animals.
