Chris Rongey
Born and raised in Granite City, IL, Chris grew up a KMOX listener, where his interest in broadcasting was born. He worked as an intern at KMOX in the summer of 1998 during the historic McGwire-Sosa home run chase. After graduating with a broadcast journalism focus at Illinois State University, his professional career began as a weekend news anchor at WJBC in Bloomington, IL. In 2002, Chris moved to Chicago to work as an anchor and host at WSCR-670 The Score, and served as the studio host/fill-in play-by-play voice for the Chicago White Sox. While in Chicago, he also worked as an anchor at WBBM-780, wrote a weekly column for the Daily Herald, and served as an MLB Network contributor. In 2017, Chris returned home to St. Louis to join 101 ESPN as a host on the afternoon show. Now a member of “The Show” on KMOX, Chris is thrilled you can no longer tell him to “stick to sports!”
