Patrick Mahomes made some history on Sunday.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback tossed four touchdown passes in a 33-31 win over the Carolina Panthers, including his 100th touchdown pass of his career.
Mahomes reached the mark in 40 games, becoming the fastest player to throw 100 touchdown passes in his career. Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino was the previous fastest to achieve the mark in 44 games.
Mahomes achieved the milestone at the end of the third quarter when he connected with Tyreek Hill for a 28-yard score.
Sunday's performance also marked the 12th time in Mahomes' career in which he threw at least four touchdown passes in a game, the most by any player over the last three seasons. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has second-most with five.
Mahomes now has 25 touchdowns to one interception, the best TD to turnover ratio in the NFL. Through Sunday's early games, Mahomes' 25 touchdowns are also second-most in the NFL behind Wilson's 28.
