St. Louis will host another massive golf event: 2030 Presidents Cup

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two teams complied of some of the world's best golfers will meet in St. Louis to play in the Presidents Cup in 2030. Bellerive Country Club in Ladue was announced as the host site for the competition at a press conference Wednesday morning.

The Presidents Cup is played between a team of the best player in the US vs the best in the world, excluding players from Europe. The US and Europe play each other in the very similar Ryder Cup.

The announcement was made with Missouri Governor Mike Parson, St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones and some PGA officials at Bellerive. The course hosted the 2018 PGA Championship, which had record-setting crowds and was touted as an incredible atmosphere by golfers and fans.

St. Louis will be just the seventh host city in the Presidents Cup history. It's been played bi-annually since 1994.

The US has won 11 of the 13 events.
