Gretzky and his wife, Janet, are calling St. Louis home for the first time since they bought a home in Frontenac together in 2012. She is a graduate of Pattonville High School and was born in Bridgeton, Missouri. He also lived in town when he played for the Blues in 1995 and 1996.

The move was reportedly made earlier this year from California so they could be closer to Janet's mother who turned 100-years-old in August. Gretzky's father died earlier this year.

The move also comes as he has found a new career path - in the broadcast booth. He signed reached a multi-year agreement with Turner Sports to be a studio analyst this season. He will appear during key moments in the regular season — including opening week and the Winter Classic, which the Blues play against the Minnesota — and the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“We just felt like, after the passing of my dad and my youngest going to college this year, maybe this is a good time to move. We've kind of become empty nesters,” he said. “We get to spend a lot of time with our family, and I get to do what I love to do, which is talk about hockey.”

Gretzky joins a number of former Blues who also continue to call St. Louis home, like Chris Pronger, Keith Tkachuk, Al MacInnis and plenty more alumni.
