
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday their All-SEC teams and both teams feature a lot of Missouri Tigers.
Seven Missouri Tigers football players were announced as part of the All-SEC team, including five on the All-SEC First Team.
Tigers running back Cody Schrader, wide receiver Luther Burden, offensive lineman Javon Foster, defensive lineman Darius Robinson and defensive back Kris Abrams-Draine were all part of the All-SEC First team.
Kicker Harrison Mevis and linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper were also named to the All-SEC team, with both appearing on the All-SEC Second team.
According to the SEC, Mizzou had the second most players named to the All-SEC first team in the conference. Only Alabama was higher with eight.
It was unsurprising that Mizzou had so many players appear of the All-SEC teams this year after a 10-2 season, being ranked in the Top 10 and being set to appear in the 2023 Cotton Bowl.
Schrader and Burden both broke out in 2023, becoming arguably the team's MVPs this season. Schrader is third in the nation in rushing yards, rushing for 1,489 yards this season and scoring 13 touchdowns. Schrader won the Burlsworth Trophy Monday night as the nation's most outstanding walk-on player and is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, given to the nations top running back.
Burden, meanwhile showed this season why he was a five-star recruit in high school, catching for 1,197 yards this season, which is tenth in the nation and catching eight receiving touchdowns. He was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff and Maxwell Awards.
Foster is apart of an offensive line that is currently a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line in the county. During the season, Mizzou's offensive line allowed the third fewest sacks in the SEC.
Robinson, returned for an extra year, despite moving to edge, he had a amazing season. Robinson's 7.5 sacks rank sixth in the league while his 12 tackles for a loss were eighth. He also had 41 tackles, five QB hurries, a forced fumble, recovery and was a two-time SEC Player of the Week.
Abrams-Draine was a semifinalist for the Bednarik and Thorpe Awards and leads the SEC with 16 passes defended. His four interceptions matched a career best and his efforts has earned him an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl after his final game for Mizzou at the Cotton Bowl.
