Former Mizzou baseball coach Tim Jamieson returns under new head coach Kerrick Jackson

KMOX Exclusive: Kerrick Jackson joins Sports Open Line with Matt Pauley to discuss his new coaching staff

Former Mizzou baseball head coach Tim Jamieson is returning to the program. New Tigers coach Kerrick Jackson appeared on KMOX’s “Sports Open Line” with Matt Pauley on Thursday night and confirmed the hiring.

“One of those guys that I am bringing back and looking forward to bring back is Coach Jamieson,” Jackson said. “He’s going to come back with me and be a part of this. I took him with me down to Memphis and I am looking forward to having him on board here.”

“He’s a big key piece to what it is that we are going to do when you look at what he’s done in his career with developing pitchers specifically,” Jackson continued. “For me, to help me develop and grow and be the best coach I can be. He has multi-value, if you will, when it comes to that.”

Jamieson was the head coach at Missouri for 22 seasons from 1995-2016. He won 698 games and made nine NCAA Tournaments while at Missouri.

Jackson was named the University of Missouri's 15th head baseball coach in program history on Saturday.
