Blues call upon all fans to be official National Anthem singers at home games

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - There will be no one person asked to fill the very talented shoes of Charles Glenn, the former St. Louis Blues vocalist who sang the National Anthem before home games. Instead, the 19,000 fans in attendance will be asked to sing.

The Blues teased earlier this week that they would be unveiling who the next vocalist would be. On Friday, they announced it's "YOU!"

The new tradition at every Blues home game will be for fans to sing The Star-Spangled Banner. It begins on Oct. 23 when the Blues host the LA Kings.

"It's a 'call of duty' that will add weight to an already heavy custom. It's an opportunity for Blues fans to engage and set the tone before puck drop. It's a time for fans to stand together and use their voices to honor the brave men and women that selflessly serve the United States, to bond with their neighbors and to inspire their Blues," the team stated.
