ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Thursday's game between the St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights has been postponed due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests among a Vegas player and multiple coaches.
The Blues were set to play the second of a back-to-back series against the Golden Knights in Vegas after winning in a shootout on Tuesday night.
"The team’s training facilities have been closed, effective immediately, and will remain closed until further notice. The League is in the process of reviewing and revising the Golden Knights’ regular season schedule and it is expected that a decision on next week’s games will be made in the next 24-48 hours. The Golden Knights organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of its Players, staff and community at large as set by the NHL, local, state and national agencies," the league stated in a release.
No positive tests have been reported among Blues players or coaches.
The Blues next game is set for Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks.
On Tuesday, the Vegas coaching staff self-isolated from the rest of the team "out of an abundance of caution," said general manager Kelly McCrimmon, who was on the bench for that game. At least one member of the coaching staff had tested positive before the game.
