ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Blues interim head coach Drew Bannister is having a decent start since taking the helm as coach.
With wins over the Ottawa Senators and Dallas Stars, Bannister has started off his stint on good graces of both players and fans, with the Blues still only a point off from Central Division rivals Arizona Coyotes from the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
There's still a whole lot of games left, and Bannister will face a tough test heading into the new year with a road trip in Florida to play both the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers, along with home games against Central Division rivals Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and a visit from Sidney Crosby and the disappointing Pittsburgh Penguins to end 2023.
Before the Blues head down to the Sunshine State, Bannister joined KMOX's Sports Director Tom Ackerman on Sports on A Sunday Morning to discuss his time with the Blues so far, analysis of key moments on the ice over the past two games, his coaching journey in the OHL and AHL, and transitioning from playing in the NHL to mentoring young talent and seizing coaching opportunities.
