The St. Louis Blues are in a bit of a slump — they've lost five straight games as of Wednesday night. It's the first time that the team has gone four games without picking up a point under coach Craig Berube.

"You know, the compete levels gotta get up and we got to be more aggressive that we played LA," Berube told KMOX's Sports Open Line. "You know, we went out passively at times and just let them kind of skate through us and score goals. So we got to be a lot harder than that."

Berube added, "We know we have a good hockey team in there. They just had to go in on the ice and perform like a good hockey team. And, you know, sometimes to get out of ruts and adversity and things like that, it's not just gonna happen, you got to go and push the envelope, you gotta make it happen."

Sports Open Line also heard from Blues center Ryan O'Reilly, who did not mince words about his own performance as of late.

"It's time to figure it out. I don't even want to say too much about it. But yeah, even just look at myself — I've just been absolutely horrible right now," O'Reilly said. "You know, I'm not really doing anything. So yeah, I'm gonna fight for my life right now. I'm gonna fight to be in this league."
