ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Blues announced Tuesday that forward Jake Neighbours has signed a two-year extension worth a total of $7.5 million.

Neighbour's extension is set to worth an average annual value of $3.75 million.

Prior to the extension, Neighbours was set to enter restricted free agency (RFA) for the first time after the season. With the extension, Neighbours will now become a RFA at the conclusion of the 2026-2027 season.

Neighbours was the Blues first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, being selected 26th overall by the Blues.

Last season was a breakout year for Neighbours, with Neighbours scoring 27 goals and racking up 38 points in 77 games. Neighbours' 27 goals last season was tied for second-highest on the team alongside Pavel Buchnevich, and only behind Jordan Kyrou.

So far this season, Neighbours has got the puck into the net twice and racked up three points in six appearances so far this season. Neighbours so far is fifth among Blues forwards in ice time, averaging 15:48.

The contract extension of Neighbours by the Blues is effectively a bridge deal that will see Neighbours get a big raise from his entry-level deal and should Neighbours continue to progress forward, he will almost certainly get a much bigger deal from the Blues in two seasons when he enters restricted free agency in the summer of 2027.
