ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The upcoming 2023-24 season is proving to be a pivotal year for St. Louis Blues defensemen Torey Krug, but however it is starting off on the wrong foot. Quite Literally.
On Tuesday, the Blues announced Krug has suffered a injury on his right foot while training for the upcoming season.
The team says that Krug will be re-evaluated on Oct. 1, which will keep Krug out of action and sidelined for the start of training camp, which is set to star
For Krug, it will be disappointing for the defensemen to miss the start of training camp, whose tenure with the Blues has been injury riddled.
2023-24 season is shaping to be a big year for Krug, whose hopes to rebound from a horrific 2022-23 season.
Krug only played 63 games, scoring seven goals, 25 assists and only got 32 points on the stat sheet. Krug was also poor defensively with his -25 =/- and 0.2 defensive point shares last season being by far his lowest numbers defensively since he became an everyday NHL player.
Improvements of the team's defensive corps will be at the center of attention this upcoming season of many Blues fans, but the loss of Krug to start training camp was certainly not how the Blues wanted to start camp.
