ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright went 6-for-6 on Tuesday evening, but not at the plate.

Amidst an impressive 2021 campaign, the looming question has been whether or not the 40-year-old NL Pitcher of the Month for August would be willing to return for one more season. Throughout the year, Wainwright had consistently stated the decision would have as much to do with his family’s opinions as it would his own.
True to his word, Adam’s wife Jenny, daughters Baylie, Morgan, Macy and Sadee Faith and son Caleb made the decision easy for him in a video released on the family’s foundation’s website, BigLeagueImpact.org.
“Six-for-six. I guess we should play,” Adam says in reference to each family member’s vote of approval.
While it is no guarantee that he would only play for the Cardinals, it would seem highly unlikely that the veteran right hander would sign anywhere else. Now, the only remaining questions appear to be what his contract will look like and who he will be joined by on the 2022 roster.
