DENVER (KMOX) - Cincinnati Reds All-Star Nick Castellanos says he loves being the villain now in the Cardinals vs Reds rivalry.
"I love going to St. Louis and being booed," Castellanos said. "I think that’s a huge honor as long as you’re being a respectful competitor and not being an ass or cheating. I think being booed for playing the game right and having success is a good thing."
He continued that as a competitor he draws energy off of boos as much as cheers in the ballpark, but he is grateful that Cardinals fans are always respectful.
"I see St. Louis, I see the families, they talk crap to me. They never cross the line, they never insult. It’s baseball and I appreciate it."
Castellanos also discussed the battle for the National League Central title this season, said Nolan Arenado thanked him for winning some games against the Brewers, and he shared how Arenado helped him in his career back in 2017.
