ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Someone is going to be paying a lot of money to own a NFT of Busch Stadium. After just one day of bidding, the price tag is already up over $3,000 for the Non-Fungible Token.

Still don't know what an NFT is, check the video at the bottom of this page for an explanation.

Major League Baseball is working with Candy Digital to unveil the “MLB Stadium Series." It's digital collectibles of each iconic MLB ballpark designed by world-renowned artist S. Preston.

Fans can either pay $100 to own an Open Edition of their favorite ballpark, including Busch Stadium. Or you can bid on the Single Edition 1-of-1 that will be sold to the highest bidder. The online auction opened on Monday and ends Thursday at 6 p.m. CT.

The bidding was kicked off with a few bids under $1,000, then quickly jumped to $2,500 and was as high as $3,300 as of late Monday night.

Additionally, the single edition auction winner will receive four Home Field Box seats for a mutually agreeable game in 2021 or 2022, four passes to the All-Inclusive UMB Champions Club (for same game), the opportunity for a pregame honorary pitch, four passes to the Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum, and a VIP parking pass.

Candy is also releasing a Stadium Chasers collection game, and fans who collect all 30 editions will unlock a series of bonus prizes.

The “MLB Stadium Series” marks Candy Digital’s third MLB product collection since becoming the league’s Official Partner for NFTs and Digital Collectibles in June. Candy is building Major League Baseball’s official NFT ecosystem where fans and collectors will be able to purchase, trade, and share officially-licensed NFTs to deepen their love of the sport.
