ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - By now, John Mozeliak and many others would've liked to see a resolution to trade rumors surrounding St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado.

However, with Spring Training two weeks away at the time of this writing, it's starting to become ever more likely Arenado will be with the Cardinals in Jupiter, Florida.

The entire Cardinals offseason has been dominated by the club's attempts to find a trade suitor for Arenado, and for a minute, it appeared they had one in the Houston Astros in December before he used his no-trade clause to nix a deal.

Nearly two months later, there has not yet been a resolution regarding the Arenado, with a potential roadblock that is still currently in play being Alex Bregman still on the free agent market.

Bregman still being available has led to potential Arenado suitors like the Boston Red Sox from pursuing a trade for Arenado.

Mozeliak joined KMOX Sports Director Tom Ackerman on 'Sports On A Sunday Morning' and discuss any update regarding trading away Arenado.

"What you're seeing in baseball right now is the market stalled," said Mozeliak. "Obviously, we saw a lot of activity right before Christmas with Winter Meetings, but since then it's been a really slow-paced market."

"I suspect the next seven to 14 days are really going to be indicators of how this market starts to move or how people start to react to it."

Mozeliak did express his frustrations with the slow moving offseason, in particular the trade market.

"I've been in this game a long time and it used to be the offseason would take you through the month of December, then it started leaking into January, now it's leaking into February," said Mozeliak.

"You look at other sports and the excitement of free agency when you have a deadline is much more newsworthy and exciting for clubs in general. I hope baseball at some point gets to that because I do think everyone will benefit."
