ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you're still not sure what an NFT is, or are just shy about jumping into the digital art game, then Adam Wainwright has a great opportunity for you to join.

The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher and his Big League Impact charity are giving away an official NFT commemorating Wainwright’s 2,000th career strikeout to anyone who donates $100 or more directly on bigleagueimpact.com. The physical piece which inspired the NFT’s was created by Steven Walden, a renowned St. Louis sports artist. It has been signed and commemorated by Wainwright as his official 2,000th strikeout piece.

Wainwright recorded career strikeout No. 2,000 on Sept. 23 against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Higher donation levels will unlock rarer NFTs and physical artwork, while the first donor to give $20,000 will receive the original artwork as well as a one-of-one NFT. To be eligible, donations must be made by 11:59 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8. Once the 96-hour early access window closes, all remaining NFTs will be available for purchase on the AVrts site NFTHub.Kred.
Walden, who is known in St. Louis for his 3D art, has raised nearly $500,000 for various charities over the past five years.
Wainwright and Walden have been collaborating for years on pieces that are sold for the benefit of charities. It all started in 2015, when Walden first painted a photo of Wainwright's celebration during the 2006 World Series.
