(KMOX) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright has a routine on days immediately after he pitches which involves a light walk. But what's unique this time is that he shared some photos on his "pretty special" stroll.
Wainwright posted photos Thursday morning around PNC Park in Pittsburgh after he completed a "Maddux" the night before with a complete-game shutout. As he usually is on social media, he was funny, informing and has us interested to know more.
Here are the pics he shared, with just a beautiful view of one of the coolest ballparks in all of baseball:
First off, love that he called it his "Old Man Walk," because that's just the kind of self-deprecating humor that makes Cardinals fans adore him more. Also, the 39-year-old played like some about 15 years younger with a stat line last night of 9 innings, 7 strikeouts, 0 runs, 0 walks, allowed 2 hits and collected 2 hits of his own with an RBI.
Second, fans love to see how much of a typical baseball fan old Uncle Charlie is just like them. He exited the stadium during his walk to go take a typical tourist photo of himself with the Roberto Clemente statue.
"Cool story of all the intricacies of the statue itself that's worth a read if you get time," Wainwright urged his near 300,000 followers.
And lastly, his photo with the statue has us wondering who took the photo.
Did he ask a random person? If so, I think we'd all love to know how that interaction went.
Thank you Waino, for being you.
