SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - On schedule and on budget. That’s the update on the new MLS stadium being built in downtown West.
Centene Stadium is more than 80% complete and on track to be 100% complete by July 22nd. Spokeswoman Ellen Spangler says the interior finishing work is going well. On the outside you can see the seats going in.
The lower bowl is primarily navy blue but there are specks of CITY red. "The upper bowl is actually primarily the city red, so it's just a really cool transition, it's really appealing to the eye." Spangler says it also spells CITY in the team's gray color.
In the next few weeks the pitch will go in. It will be heated and cooled to make sure it is in perfect condition. Click the link below to hear more:
