"(Morales) brings a wealth of experience both domestically and internationally, having played in top leagues in Europe and with the U.S. Men’s National Team," said Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel. "His technical qualities, leadership, and ability to control the midfield will be a great asset to our squad."
Last season, Morales played six games for the San Jose Earthquakes. Previously, Morales played for New York City FC (NYCFC) from 2021-2023, winning a MLS Cup with NYCFC in 2021.
Like many players on the CITY SC squad, Morales also spent time playing in Germany, playing with Fortuna Dusseldorf, Hertha Berlin and FC Ingolstadt 04 across the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for 10 years.
Internationally, although he was born in Berlin, Morales represented the United States at various levels, including at the senior level, receiving 16 caps for the U.S. from 2013-2019.
Morales had joined the club as a trialist during preseason, and impressing the coaching staff with his performances, including a standout assist against his former club NYCFC during the Coachella Valley Invitational.
