ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A record number of soccer fans put down deposits, hoping to get season tickets when the St. Louis City SC team begins Major League Soccer play in 2023. Sixty-thousand deposits were collected.
Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for St. Louis City SC Edmound Elzy has an update on the process, "If you got your deposit in early, you've got a shot at getting tickets. If you were a little bit later, it's going to be tough for you."
Centene Stadium is expected to hold 22,500 fans.
"What we'll do is take those deposits, line them up by time stamp order (whenever they placed their transaction), and then seat people accordingly," Elzy told KMOX News.
Saint Louis City SC announced Tuesday that fans who put down a deposit for season tickets at Centene Stadium will begin hearing from the club about picking seat locations, starting May 18th.
Elzy says stadium construction should be complete by this fall. He says to watch for "sneak peak" events, where they plan to allow fans to see the pitch before the first match happens.
