HSN announced that it is choosing to recall 5.4 million handheld clothing steamers.

The company received reports of the products ejecting, leaking, and spraying hot water while in use. The malfunctions present a burn hazard for its customers, according to Today.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a statement and said that HSN received 227 reports of Joy/JM-branded My Little Steamer and My Little Steamer Go Mini steamers leaking. Of those reports, 106 ended with burn injuries.

According to the CPSC, eight injuries resulted in second-degree burns, and six of them with third-degree burns.

The recalled devices were sold on the HSN television network and HSN.com. However, they were also sold in department stores and other retailers, including Amazon, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart, and Lowes from January 2002 through December 2020. Customers were able to pay $10 and $30 for an individual steamer. For combination sets, they were priced between $20 and $50.

If you’re wondering if you have the recalled product, the steamers come in several different colors. When looking at the appliance, they either have a triangular or flat steamer head with the product’s name printed on the side.

Customers who bought the appliance will be issued a refund from the company. You can call the HSN toll-free at 855-654-0942 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. If you click here, you can also receive your refund online.
