NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, has announced on Tuesday that he will run for governor of New York next year.
"Together WE WILL bring New York back! #NYForGiuliani2022 http://NYForGiuliani.com," he wrote on Twitter.
Giuliani, 35, recently worked as a top aide for former president Donald Trump during his presidency and will run as a Republican.
"I think it's time that New York get turned around. I'm sick and tired of seeing New Yorkers leaving to Florida, to Texas, to Tennessee, and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that New York is not just the cultural center of the world again, but the economic center of the world," Giuliani told "Good Day New York."
His GOP primary opponents include Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin and former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, who ran against current Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2014.
