O'FALLON, MO (KMOX) -- St. Charles County Police release footage of officers shooting suspects back in January.

Two O'Fallon police officers awoke two men sleeping in a car and saw a gun inside.  The driver backed into a patrol car then sped away while officers fired several shots.  Police discovered the gun and car had been stolen.

Why did it take so long to release the footage? Captain David Tiefenbrunn of St. Charles County Police addressed that in the video.

"This case required considerable time for investigators to thoroughly review all video and physical evidence, conduct forensic analysis, and to complete witness interviews."
