SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - Signs of progress on adding more future-proof jobs to the region's economy. The Brookings Institution puts St. Louis in a class of "rising star" tech hubs.

That group includes Dallas and Atlanta, which are showing an alternative to the overcrowded, so-called "superstar" cities. Greater St. Louis Inc. CEO Jason Hall. "If you're at the front end of the new, the innovative, the cutting-edge, that's only going to help us leverage strength and create more of those technology jobs here, which bring higher wage jobs to our residents."

During the pandemic, when everybody's job growth evaporated -- St. Louis was the only city which saw the opposite. The region had almost 5% growth in tech jobs in 2020. That's a point higher than we had leading into the pandemic.
