ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Edwardsville-based Prairie Farms is responding to a lysteria outbreak linked to frozen supplemental nutrition shakes.

Prairie Farms CEO Matt McClelland released a statement to KMOX that Prairie Farms is issuing a voluntary recall of specific Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial Frozen Supplemental Shakes.

The FDA reports the infections have been linked to the shakes made at the Prairie Farms facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

McClelland says production of the recalled products has ceased and internal teams are working tirelessly to review their production processes and food safety protocols.

"We are fully-cooperating with federal, state, and local authorities," said McClelland.

McClelland adds the safety and well-being of Prairie Farms consumers is of the utmost importance.
