ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- No more partying like it's 1999 at two St. Louis bars accused of violating Covid restrictions.

The City Health Department has ordered Wheelhouse and Start Bar to close for a year, until January 19, 2022.

The popular bars just south of the Eagleton Courthouse are accused of breaking two public health orders.

Acting Health Director Dr. Frederick Echols says the bars had too many people inside and many weren't wearing face masks.

It's not the first time the bar has been accused of flouting the city's pandemic restrictions.  Twice last year, the city ordered the the Wheelhouse closed temporarly, because of allegations of unmasked revelers jamming the dance floor.

No one was available at the bars to comment on Thursday.
